Simple and quick cabbage caserolle

Ingredients/What you need 

  • 1 Head of Cabbage (Monika used ½ )
  • 3 Boneless, Skinless chicken thighs 
  • 1 Onion 
  • 14oz Tomato (crushed or cubed)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sweet Paprika 
  • ½ Teaspoon Pepper 
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt 
  • Bay Leaves (2 or 3)
  • Knife 
  • Cutting Board
  • Baking Pot 
  • Mixing Bowl 

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees.
  2. Grab your Cabbage and cut into quarters , shred your cabbage by cutting moon shaped slices and add it to your pot.
  3. Grab your onion , cut it in half and slice it in moon shapes as well and add it to your pot. 
  4. Cut your 3 Chicken thighs into cubes, and add into your pot 
  5. Now you can grab a mixing bowl and add in your 14 oz of tomatoes . 
  6. Add in 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika 
  7. Add in your ½ teaspoon pepper 
  8. Add in 1 teaspoon Salt 
  9. Add in your bay leaves , breaking them up a bit.
  10. Mix well , then add to your pot . 
  11. Once the oven is done heating up you can place your casserole into the oven for 1 hour. You can check on your casserole in about half an hour and stir it .

Tips

When adding bay leaves to your pot , be sure to push them down to give more flavor. When prepping your chicken you can cut off the excess fat to make it a leaner choice. Once your cabbage casserole is done you can add more salt or pepper to your taste :)  Once your casserole has been in the oven for 1 hour and you find it needs more time you can put it back in for 10-15 minutes. :)
